History
The name of the town, Bulverde, comes from a type of arrow head called the Bulverde Point which were made by the first residents of the area, the Native Americans. The village originally served as a center of trade because it was located at the crossroads of Musebach and Pinta Trails. These two trails were part of the Santa Fe Trail that the Conquistadors used in their search for silver. So, this community has its roots in the very beginnings of the state ofTexas.
When it was first settled in 1850, the town was called Pieper Settlement. It got its own post office in 1879. Most of the original settlers were German immigrants who divided the land up into huge ranches. In the early 1970s the land was further divided up into subdivisions.
